    Manually modifying strategy orders

    Hello,

I have a question concerning modifying orders placed within a strategy.
I have developed a strategy that sends buy and sell orders through buy and sell buttons.
I am using the unmanaged orders placing strategy using IOrder etc...

Now to enter trades and placing the initial stop after the entry fill as well as bringing the stop to breakeven is well managed by the strategy.

BUT I would like to manage the profit taking portion manually modifying orders through the DOM manually.

    Is it possible ?
If yes it means that the position managed by the strategy will reflect the orders placed manually ?
    Is that right ?

    Hello blar58,

    Thank you for your post.

NinjaScript cannot adjust manually entered orders, but you can adjust orders submitted from the strategy on the SuperDOM.

This is unsupported territory for NinjaScript, but please let me know if you have any further questions and I may be able to point you in the right direction.

OK so that should work !

What I want to do is take the breakeven stop placed by the strategy and bring the stop closer to the market manually to take profit.

      Is that right ?

        Hello blar58,

        Thank you for your response.

        That would be possible.

Unfortunately I cannot modify orders from the DOM
It says that "You must select an *Active ATM Strategy that contains working stop loss and / or profit target orders first."

          What can I do ?

            Hello blar58,

            Thank you for your response.

Can you provide a screenshot of the error and the SuperDOM when this occurs?

I look forward to your response.

Is it possible to modify my price targets/stops (set by my strategy) in the IB TWS client while my strategy is still running? Or will the prices set by the strategy always trigger exits? If that is the case, what would be the best way to modify my exits while my strategy is still running if I needed to?

                Hello IFT20,

                Thank you for your post.

As the orders are sent to Interactive Brokers they should be available in TWS and adjustable. You can also open up a new chart for the same instrument and enable the Chart Trader for the same account your strategy is trading to see the orders from the strategy on this chart and adjust them.

For information on the Chart Trader please visit the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...art_trader.htm

Hm, I tried to modify a sell limit order in TWS by moving the target price up, but my position was closed when the original price target was hit. I was pretty sure the target was moved correctly, but I'll try again at a later time to see if this was an execution error on my part.
