Strategy position with unmanaged orders?

Thanks for the infos sjwelch, I've looked further into - and unfortunately it would be a limitation for TDA trading equities where the current strategy position is used to differentiate between the needed Order Actions, as a specific tagging for Buy vs BuyToCover would be required here by the brokerage. I will note this down in our product enhancement tracking list for consideration / revisiting once we're in this area for our next major platform update. Thanks for making me aware.

Thanks for tracking this. To me, it doesn't make sense that NT would limit the user's capabilities for unmanaged orders in this scenario. Since Action.Buy and Action.BuyToCover are clearly two separate things, NT should let the user choose which one to use without getting in the way.

sjwelch, you're welcome. In our next major update we plan to enhance the part you've run into by exactly submitting what you've set in code without any further checks like this setup with TDA. If there was then an issue with the order action used > it would need to addressed in your script's source code.
