ExitLong on GSLO

Hi,

I am currently building a strategy and back testing it. Through my CFD provider I use GSLOs (Guaranteed Stop Loss Orders). Is it possible to use that guaranteed stop loss value in the ExitLong method instead of the Close so I can test the effectiveness of paying for GSLOs.

I am back testing using daily data.

If I need to use the advanced coding options for exits that would be fine.

Hi Milton, welcome to the forums here. Would this be a specific order type you have to use? In my understanding it's a regular stop loss order, but your provider would ensure you get a certain execution? The ExitLong would be a market order that would normally be subject to potential slippage, however in your case this would be limited trading live.

Hi Bertrand,
Thanks for your prompt reply. What I am trying to do in backtesting the strategy is to have the results of the backtesting represent getting the Exit at the GSLO price, not the close of the day as ExitLong seems to use.

I am trying to determine if paying to use GSLOs is worth it.

You can work in submitting a Stop / StopLimit order instead, but we could not directly simulate the GSLO price in backtesting. From my understanding that's just a guaranteed stop loss, so no slippage for your stop market exit.
