    commisions

    hello there Ninjafriends. I have a question, when I backtest my strategies they often work when commission is excluded, but fail when included. I find that very odd when I have put a point value of 10 in the instrument editor. So if the system looks for 10 dollar per trade or pip and commission is about t3 or four dollar how can it be a loss???

    If anyone knows how to make the proper account settings you are most welcome to help me.

    Thanks for your note.

    I am happy to assist you today. I will need some information from you that you may be more comfortable sending to me privately.

    Please let me know who you are connected to (in green in the lower left corner of the Control Center), and what instrument you are backtesting.

    I would also like a few screenshots so that I may see what is happening with your orders.

    Please send a screenshot of the performance results summary, a screenshot the commissions amount in the Instrument Editor Misc tab, and a screenshot of the commissions amount in the Options Commission tab.

    The results summary will be in the Strategy Analyzer window after your backtest is complete.

    To see the commissions in the Instrument Editor Misc tab:
    • Click Tools -> Instrument Manager -> search for the instrument and then select the instrument -> click the Edit button
    • In the Instrument Editor window click the Misc tab -> scroll to the commission for your connection type


    To see the commissions in the Options Commissions tab:
    • Click Tools -> Options -> Commission
    • Scroll to the type of instrument and your data provider pair


    To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.
