Backtest strategy

Running a backtest for my strategy, the strategy is consuming up to 600 Mb RAM. The backtest does finish succesfully, but after the backtest the RAM consumed is not released. The only action that I can do within NT is closing the NT application and restart, every other action causes NT to hang. Is there a way to find out what causes this RAM consumption (I know I run a period of 10 years on 5 minutes, so it will consume a lot, but I expect that the RAM will be released after finishing the backtest) and secondly is there a way te release the RAM used after the backtest finishes, in order to be able to work in NT afterwards (probably relasing somthing in the OnTermination section? If so, I have to be able to dertermine what causes the RAM consumption).

Thank you for your post.

From your description of this matter it would appear that NinjaTrader gets stuck looping and the memory usage never decreases to a normal level. There are some items to take into consideration here:

• Are you connected to your data feed provider while running the backtest? If so, please try disconnecting from the data feed provider so that your workspaces are not updating at the same time that your extensive backtest is being ran.
• What is the size of your NinjaTrader database? Your database can be found by going to Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db folder and the database will be named "NinjaTrader.sdf".
• How many workspaces do you have open? How many charts are open on these workspaces and how many custom indicators are being ran on these charts?
