Time Stops and Custom Sounds

Hi,

Suppose I have a long position of 500 shares in IBM and today I buy additional 100 shares.

Now I have stop loss and profit target orders entered for this particular 100 shares trade. I want to make sure that I have completely exited this 100 shares trade by 3:45pm (in case SL or profit tgt are not hit). I DO NOT want to touch my original 500 share position.
How can I do this?

In the Optoins-> Misc I see something as Flatten All by time. What does that do?

Secondly, how can I have custom sounds for order executions, instead of that lady voice calling out.

Can you please clarify if the method in which these trades are being placed? Automated strategy, ATM Strategy, etc?

This will allow you to have orders closed at a specific time and may be what you're looking for: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...se_at_time.htm

Sound files are located in one of the following directories depending on your OS
64bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader 7\sounds
32bit OS: C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 7\sounds

If you were to replace these with your own wave files of the same name it would use that file instead.

HI,

This order is being placed through an ATM strategy. So I have a stop and a profit target set. All I want to do is to attach a time stop to the order ir. if neither of the target and stop are hit then the trade should close at 3:45pm automatically.

Now the thing is I have multiple trades out there(in IBM) and I want to close only few trades selectively at 3:45pm. I want to carry forward few of the trades to next day.

Optiosn->Misc->Time to Close is flattening everything, all trades, across all names( even though I have NOT selected flatten everything option)

You will want to use the close at time feature for this and must have it enabled before you place the order: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...se_at_time.htm

Set the Misc Tab Time To flatten: to 3:45pm and do not check the Flatten all. Right click the order entry window and check mark Close at Time. Place the order -> uncheck close at time if you do not want following order to be submitted this way

Additionally please ensure your TIF is properly set before placing your orders.

This is not working as expected.

Eg :

I DON NOT have flatten all selected.

I select Close at time on one DOM and buy 100 shares of IBM.

Then I go ahead and buy another 100 shares from ANOTHER DOM instance where Close at Time is NOT selected.

It is still closing the whole 200 shares at 3:45pm.

Also it is closing all positions across all names even if I DON NOT selected Flatten All option from MISC tab.

I dont thing this is correct behavior ! Is this a bug?

You will need to change this to GTC (Good til canceled) if you do not wish it to be a Day order.
