User input while strategy enabled

I have a custom strategy which runs on daily bars.

On occassion, it would be useful to be able to update a given variable/property "on the fly" without needing to disable, then re-enable the strategy.

Is it possible to code a strategy in this way such that it will accept user input while running?

Hi AnotherTrader, per default this would unfortunately not be possible without a disable / reenable cycle as you correctly noted (we have this as feature request though on our product enhancement lists).

I think what you could look into would be updating paramters from a file, so that the strategy would check for example on a new day / or weekstart if a paramter file would be present and use those provided and if no file present then you would your default values. Have seen this put fully into code yet, but believe it should be an approach worth checking into.
