    Break open range

I haven't been able to find any info on the forum for my question.

I am new to ninja and not a programmer so I apologize if this is a sophmoric question.

I am trying to develop a strategy for back testing purposes that enters a trade on a break out of the first 30 minute opening range. There would also be a pre defined exit.

Appreciate any information to get me started in the right direction

Hello delta20, if you're not a programmer and just getting started with our C# based programming language then a good start would be reviewing those educational resources (especially the tutorials) in our helpguide to get familiar with the environment and syntax used - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h..._resources.htm

In our collection of reference sample, we have a sample script for recognizing the high and low points of a set time range, this could be a useful start for your breakout as well - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...ead.php?t=8600

Another approach would be storing the High / Low prices at your desired time of the trading day into variables and then monitoring for price to break them to get into a trade.
