    Ticker Alert

Just wanted to know if there's a way to set up a ticker alert that filters Highs/ Lows based on price and volume and is capable of selecting or deselecting Nasdaq, S&P, AMEX, ETFs and other markets? This is a tool that helps determine the direction of the markets. along with watching the $TICK.

LS has a ticker alert window built in with their platform, but I don't want to switch brokers and platforms till I know for sure there isn't an alternative with the broker I use and NT.

    Thanks for your help.

    isto,

Likely you could use some combination of filters and indicators in the Market Analyzer here.

This can be used as a market scanner.

The $Tick instrument can be used in NinjaTrader if your broker supports it.

    For example : http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...d=4&linkid=458

Thanks for your quick reply Adam.

The market analyzer is good, but it will not populate like the ticker alert with LS platform.... It populates like the Time and Sales window... and if its all green with new highs in that second or all red with new lows it is a clearer picture of what's happening in the markets at that very moment. (is it possible to setup the Market Analyzer to populate like the time and sales?)

Scrolling through the list of stocks wouldn't have the same affect at a glance as the other mentioned above.

      What are you thoughts?

        isto,

The Market Analyzer has a way of "filtering" results. So what it can do is only show the instruments that meet the conditions you setup, and hide everything else.

If you want something more like the "Time and Sales" where a new line is generated whenever something occurs you may want to consider using the "Alerts" tool. You can setup alerts in a strategy using the point-and-click "Strategy Wizard" then have these alerts populate the "Alerts" tool as they occur. You just then need to enable a strategy for each instrument you want to get alerts for.

The Market Analyzer is just a bit easier to add a whole list of instruments to. You could also alternatively use an Indicator that has alerts in the Market Analyzer, add a whole list of instruments, then still get these alerts in the "Alerts" tool, however programming it would be a bit more complicated than using the Strategy Wizard.

Basically I think our platform can be configured to do what you want here with one of the tools, but since I am not familiar with the other trading platform you mention I am not 100% sure how it should operate for your needs.
