    freeze on right-click

    I run ninja on a dedicated server... no custom code other than mine which has been running no problem for more than a year

    today I noticed ninja delayed responding to right-clicks... was able to start 12 strategy charts and they all ran fine until 1:14PM

    right-clicked in a chart to change the instrument and ninja froze

    disabled all strats... closed workspace....closed ninja

    opened ninja... blank untitled1 workspace with no charts... opened a new NQ12-12 chart with 'none' template'... right-clicked...frozen...

    removed my custom assembly....no custom code at all in ninja or on server for that matter... restart ninja...open chart, right-click, froze

    nothing posted in log or trace files after 1;14 pm freeze

    is there a corrupt ninja file I can delete.... or do I need to re-install ninja?

    Could you send me the log and trace so that I may look into what occurred so that we can get this resolved.

      did not send files....no prints after 1;14...and running fine until then

      copied db/data, workspace and some other files to desktop in preparation for new install.... as last try before install.thought I would try connecting to another feed ...new chart worked properly on IQ, and Kinetick and then zen.... then prior workspace with 15 charts with 12 strats worked properly....so something resolved the issue

        Hello ATI user,

        The log and trace files will contain other information on what is loading that may help me determine was going on. If you moved or copied the "db" folder and had NinjaTrader create a new one it could have been either some corrupt historical data or cache that is stored inside the "db" folder.

          before initial post here I had tried rename of db and that did not work...i.e. same issue on new db...so went back to old db

          when copying files I did move only workspace i.e. by mistake did not copy but rather moved... possibly it was corrupt and on last try I had no workspace at all in workspace folder...however on prior tries I used blank 'untitled1' workspace to no affect.... anyway, connecting to IQ instead of zen worked first time...strange since error occurred without any connection at all before... anyway put only custom workspace back in workspace folder and it works as usual

          my best guess at this point is that, like you said, maybe the copies did something...or maybe connecting to IQ cleared something

          re log/trace, yes...thought of that however nothing was called or even exists on this machine to call... other than my one strat which has been running forever... only suspicious entry I saw was:
          '2012-10-01 06:04:29:869 ERROR:Connection to Ninjatrader historical market data server lost: An existing connection was forcibly closed by remote host.'

            Hello ATI user,

            That Log message basically just means that your you got disconnected from the historical data server but that would not cause NinjaTrader to freeze up just would not be able to reload historical data.

            Let us know if the issue persists.
