Save Stategies in the Stragegies Tab??

Is there a way to save the strategies on the Strategies Tab so the same ones can be easily loaded again, with the same parameters?

I would like to activate the same strategies each time I start Ninja.

But I don't see a way to do this...

Please advise.

Thank you for your post.

Saving your Workspace will save the Strategies listed on the Strategies tab of the NinjaTrader Control Center.
To save your Workspace please go to File > Workspaces > Save Workspace.

Hello, sometimes the strategies persist after a Ninja shutdown and restart, sometimes they don't.

I looked in the Workspace .XML files and am not seeing that they are stored there. Here are my questions:

1) Where are the strategies stored? (in the ninjatrader.sdf file?)

2) When multiple Workspaces are open, which workspace is associated with the Strategy Tab?

3) Are only Active Strategies saved?

4) Does Sim work different than Live?

5) What causes the stategies (in the Strategy Tab) to disappear, even though the workspaces are always saved on Ninja exit?

Thank you for your post.

1. Where are the strategies stored? (in the ninjatrader.sdf file?)
   The Strategies listed on the Strategies tab of the NinjaTrader Control Center are saved in your active Workspace. Please make sure you are only saving your workspace (File > Workspaces > Save Workspace) when you have made a change you wish to keep.
2. When multiple Workspaces are open, which workspace is associated with the Strategy Tab?
   The active Workspace, the Workspace that has a check mark next to it when you go to File > Workspaces.
3. Are only Active Strategies saved?
   No, only Strategies that are listed on the Strategies tab are saved regardless of being active or not. If they are removed and you save your Workspace then they will not be on the Workspace when you load it up next time.
4. Does Sim work different than Live?
   In regards to this matter there is no difference in how simulation reacts versus how live reacts to the Workspaces and Strategies tab.
5. What causes the stategies (in the Strategy Tab) to disappear, even though the workspaces are always saved on Ninja exit?
   If you have removed a Strategy and are now saving without that Strategy listed on the Strategies tab of the NinjaTrader Control Center.

It does not store the Strategies, whether or not there is a Chart, Output Window, or Alert in the Workspace.

In this case the only things in the workspace are the Strategies.

You are correct, the Strategies are not saving in your Workspace.

Please send me your log and trace files for today so that I may look into what occurred.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Support.

Can't Find Strategy Parameters Saved

I have a set of strategies in the Strategies tab that show up after each time I close... so their parameters are being saved somewhere. However, I'm unable to locate WHERE the parameters are being saved. I've looked in the _Workspaces.xml and don't see them there.

In what file are the parameters for these strategies saved?

Jeff, welcome to our forums here - the applied strategy instance are persisted in the NT database file.

If you want to specifically save a settings template to xml, you could make a default one out of your current used set of settings. Just right click on the UI and select to 'Save as default'.
