Strategy settings in chart templates

Has there been any discussion or progress there at NinjaTrader Central about how to save strategy parameters *per instrument* on a chart template? I know you can save a Default Settings for a strategy, but that would apply to all instruments it is used on. We want to save the Strategy parameter settings inside a chart template file and be able to load that template with all of the Strategy settings intact.

Hello Bryan,
Unfortunately the strategy settings cannot be saved instrument wise.

As a workaround you can create multiple instances of the strategy and apply it for each instrument.

• In Control Center menu bar goto Tools>Edit NinjaScript>Strategies..
• In the Strategies dialog select your custom straegy (say it is named as MyStrategy)
• Click on Ok
• Right click on the NinjaScript Editor
• In the context menu click on Save As
• Save the strategy as MyStrategyES

Now apply MyStrategyES while trading ES.

Yes, but I would like to avoid having to manage licenses for multiple versions of the same strategy. Is there anything in development to address this with some kind of XML save file?

Even though you can have multiple editions of the same strategy for different instruments, each edition can reference the same license module and need not be licensed separately (assuming you are using NinjaTrader licensing).

I would agree, it's disappointing the platform does not have a native solution for this.
