IB connection not placing trades via ATI strat

    IB connection not placing trades via ATI strat

    my strat places trades fine for NQ on zenfire
    trying first time to have it make a trade on IB

    error 1 on connection to IB is:
    'Error validating request 'id': cause FA data operations ignored for non FA customers. ServerValidateError'

    error 2 on trying to enable strat to IB cash account:
    'Error validating request 'wc': cause - The symbol or the local-symbol id must be entered. ServerValidateError'

    did symbol mapping for IB connection for NQ as 'NQU2' ....no difference

    please advise

    Hello,

    What was the original symbol map you were using for IB? Was it just "NQ"?

    What exchange is selected from the Instrument Editor?

    Do you receive real-time or historical data for the NQ 09-12 with these settings?

      original map was 'NQ'

      exchange in Instrument Manger is 'GLOBEX'

      real time feed is plotting on chart

      primary feed is Kinetick Live...secondary is IB with historical selected

        also...it is not the strat....i.e. can not make a manual trade from charttrader either

          Please make sure you're using NQ as the symbol as this should work.

          Do you get real time data with Kinetick disconnected? We will need to verify the IB connection is mapped correctly to TWS.

            changed back to NQ map

            yes...got real time feed with no kinetick connection

              Please send me your log and trace files for today so that I may look into what occurred.

              You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Mail to Support.

                able now to place manual trade

                same errors in Log when trying to enable strat

                  Both errors are generated or just one of them?

                  The first error about FA is reported from TWS and can be ignored.

                  Are you still getting the Symbol ID error?

                    no...not getting symbol error now on enable

                    so...back to my strat code as the problem

                    on enable my strat checks the IB account balance and gets an accurate number....on the next tick it gets 0 balance

                    on zenfire it only checks the once and goes from there....

                    for some reason on IB, it only get the accurate balance on the first tick...then starts returning 0

                      Are you using GetAccountValue?

                      This method will return 0 on historical data. To confirm, print Historical and MarketPosition along side your Account Value and verify that this is real-time

                        still getting this error

                        able to place trades manually so symbol is not a problem?

                        limited cashvalue check to one time only at which time it plots the correct account balance, so historical should not be a problem either.....

                          How many IB accounts are connected to NinjaTrader at this time?

                          Were you ever able to send in the log and trace files? I did not receive these.

                            problem solved...i.e. placing trade from strat

                            both the error messages still occur....seem to have no effect so will ignore
