submit an order with open opposite positions

I think it will close the opposite positions first and then open a position when submitting an order with an open opposite position. want a confirmation for this.

Can you please clarify what type of orders you're using? Are they market or stop/limit orders?

Are you using the managed or unmanaged approach?

I am using managed approach.

I don't think an unmanaged approach will make this effect.
The second question: I don't think it will make any difference between market order or limit order in this case.

Correct, there are additional rules with using the managed approach which prevents you from opening additional positions depending on the type of order you are using.

However in the unamanged approach, there are no order handing rules.

If you are in a 1 long position and submit a sell order for 2 contracts, you will see the 1 long position closed and a short position opened from the 2 qty execution.
