bars required question

I have a multi time frame strategy. I run the strategy on a 1 minute, and add 3 and 15 minute time frames. I use a 12, 26, 9 MACD on the 15 minute bar, so for bars required I'd need 390 bars? (15 * 26 = 390)

Just want to make sure I understand this in a multi time stragegy.

"Bars required" option is independent from any indicator parameters. You even might go with a value of 0. However, you might see whipsaws on the early bars then.

Basically you would need to figure out best setting for your setup to filter out start-up-whipsaws.

...if i have a strategy on a daily chart, and 'Bars required' set to 0, it would calculate right away? and if it was a 30min chart, and 'Bars required' set to 1, it would calculate after 1 bar of historical data?

Correct mystiq, this concerns the start of the historical data on your chart, it tells the script's OnBarUpdate() to wait for x bars until starting the calcs.
