    Different Strategies Different Timeframes

    Hello NT Support
Is it possible to run two or more differnt startegies at once from the NT platform in order to take advantage of how they optimised. Say they optimize on different timeframes or some other parameter. Or can this be resolved in one overall strategy?

    thinkster,

I am not sure what your goal is here, could you clarify?

You can run multi-timeframe strategies, meaning that they can access more than one time frame's bar values. You can also run multiple strategies, however I would advise using different accounts for each one if they are running on the same instrument.

Thanks, Adam. Yes, strategies to run in same instrument. They have different conditions to exit and noticed they each optimized at differnt timeframes. So I want them to run in thier best timeframes.

        thinkster,

I would suggest using 2 separate accounts here. You can have 1 strategy run one 1 account, the other strategy on another. If you don't do this you may run into strategy position vs. account position syncing issues. For example, one strategy will think its long, the other will think its short but your actual account will be flat.

Is there any discussion of this in educational resourses. Also about the multi timeframe option also. Thanks.

            thinkster,

Here is a discussion of "strategy position vs. account position" : http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h..._account_p.htm

Here is our help guide on multi-series indicators/strategies : http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...nstruments.htm

There is also a reference sample that comes with NinjaTrader in Tools > Edit NinjaScript > Strategy > SampleMultiTimeframe.

Our references section has some more such as "Entering on one time frame and exiting on another" : http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...splay.php?f=30

Please let me know if I may assist further.
