how would i make an entry a certain amount of ticks from an ema line ?

Thanks for writing in and I am happy to assist you.

You can set an offset value to the EMA to enter a position above certain tick price above the EMA. For example the attached screenshot will enter a position when current market price is greater than EMA(14) + 5 ticks.

i did that , and it just bought every tick for some reason maybe i did it wrong
