Multi-Instrument backtest on Multu-core vs 1 core

I'm running backtest on 1 instrument on 4 core PC for about 2 minutes. I'm going to run the same strategy on 1000 instruments. Lets' assume it will be linear dependence on backtest time, so it takes about 2000 to test it. How much faster it will run if I use 100 core PC or more?

Unfortunately we cannot provide any estimate on how long the backtest will run for. Even our Time remaining in the status bar is an estimate.

Ok. But is there any sense in using super PC for backtest? I mean does the structure of NinjaTrader provide using many cores for backtesting to improve speed of backtest with rising amount of cores or not?

Backtesting is multicore, so you can take advantage of a multicore system. But its hard to estimate exactly how much, it would be quicker.

Also let me add, that if your code has any enums, or booleans as parameters then NinjaTrader cannot take advantage of the multicore functionality. In such case please modify your code as suggested in this thread http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...ad.php?t=31816
