Is there a way to state this correctly so that it will work? I don't want to use SetProfitTarget...

If you have private double = longProfit...........

longProfit = Position.AvgPrice + 1 * TickSize;

if (Position.MarketPosition == MarketPosition.Long
&& Position.MarketPosition >= longProfit)

{

ExitLong();

}

I believe your issue is here : Position.MarketPosition >= longProfit

You could try Position.AveragePrice instead.
