help please

i have a strategy in the works , but im trying to find out how to put a pause or something that will stop the signal until next trend .

benrock, would you find the 'next' trend manually and then wish to 'rearm' the strategy? Or would you seek that all be done via code directly?

i just want to have a buy signal and then let that play out and then a short signal playout , i dont want 2 buys or 2 shorts in a row . i want long/short/long/short

I guess,you can drawing a Diamond with a name TagUpTrendBuySignal or TagDownTrendSellSignal,and within OnBarUpdate(),just check if there is a Diamond alread,if not a new trend begin,otherwise,delete the Diamond,draw a new trend Diamond.

Ben, for a strategy you could use bool flags to only process alternating longs and shorts, I've posted this HMATrader sample a few months ago on the forums, it would show this idea, perhaps it helps you out, too.

Huh? Are you saying that the picture you show was coded exclusively using the Wizard? Wow, the wizard must be more powerful than I thought.

I was not being sarcastic: I was really surprised, if that was coded using the wizard, as I have not really used the wizard for a very long time.

And as penence for not clearly communicating, and coming off as sarcastic, I am going to offer to work with you to code that for you. Please tell me the conditions that create your signal, and we shall go from there.
