    Error on order close

    I'm running a very simple ATM-strategy with two lots.

    When I try to close an order manually with the CLOSE button in ChartTrader, the order just stays or closes shortly and immediately a new order is generated...

    Closing the order from the positions tab in NT works fine.
    The connection is with IB.
    Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Arno, are the entries coming from a NinjaScript calling ATM's or would this be manual trading only?

    Could you please send me the trace / logs to support via the Help > Mail to Support option in NT so we could review?

      Support gave me a custom build NT and together with the latest version of TWS, everything is running fine again! Thanks again!

        Despite updates, this problem does occasionally shows up...
        I suppose it has something to do with my two (linked) accounts with Interactive Brokers.

        Most days everything runs fine, but if everything is messed up, even after a restart, it's frustrating because you're not sure if you have a position in the market or not...

        • the entry line in NT can disappear, but the target and stop loss lines remain visible.
        • Nothing happens on pressing Close or Flatten
        • After closing everything in TWS and a restart, NT continue to show open positions...

          GM Arno, thanks for the follow up here - what NT7 and IB TWS version do you use now in your setup where the issue would occasionally show? Could you please contact us via Help > Mail to Support with your diagnostic files and include as well an approximate time range of the issue?

            The problem still persists...

            1. After reaching stoploss this morning, the order still remained visible.
            When I clicked on "Close", a reverse order triggered. A second "Close" closed this order. (Finally flat )

            2. The order entry line and the order in Positions tab was invisible for half a minute...
            The order was visible in TWS from IB.

              Do you have sub accounts?

              When you took this screenshot were the orders active in the orders tab?

              When this occurs is it only with the strategy or can it occur with manual entry of the ATM Strategy itself.

              We would also want to take a look at logs and trace file. Control Center->Help->Mail To Support and reference this forum post and let us know what time this screenshot was taken.

                Problem finally solved?!

                Just a quick update:

                Don't use two linked accounts from IB with NT 7!
                Support finally acknowledged that this connection could give problems.
                So don't try it, even if it seems to work at first, because you're heading for trouble.

                Trying to close an account and opening a new one with IB, is more stressful than trading and it takes more patience

                I finally managed to make 2 separate connections. Looks good.
                Let's hope it stays that way in live trading conditions!

                  No problem just sorry you had to go through the special setup and we found that limitation with our IB adapter and our account groups feature but glad we were able to do a workaround that should get you up and going which is using 2 single account IB connections.
