Total positions for all strategies

How would I display the total number of active positions for all of the strategies I am running for this account?

Also, is there a way to know the total unrealized profit for those open positions?

Hello egan857,

Unfortunately there are no supported ways of accessing account wide positions. The position information available from a NinjaScript strategy relate only to the specific strategy instance that accesses it.

The only account wide items supported are with GetAccountValue()

Possible values:
AccountItem.BuyingPower
AccountItem.CashValue
AccountItem.RealizedProfitLoss

That's a shame. It would be really helpful for risk management, especially for an auto-trading strategy.

Can you please send a request to add this feature in the future? I've read quite a few posts and noticed that everybody has their own ways of limiting risk, but here's what I look for:

- Number of total positions open
- Total unrealized PnL
- Total cost of open positions (I don't like to use the account's entire buying power during the dead periods of the day, so I'd like to throttle the available buying power dynamically)
