    ATI user,

I am happy to assist you.

I would recommend that you check with your broker to see what phase the market was in. For example market orders are either not allowed during pre-trading hours or not allowed or difficult to fill during large news events near the beginning of the session, and only previously existing limit/stop trades are allowed to be filled. You can look up "news trading" on your favorite search engine for more information.

As far as your issue with FlattenEverything, Please note that a NinjaScript strategy only knows its own strategy position and as such can only act according to that information. If you want the strategy to stop all its own orders and positions you can check out this reference sample: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...ead.php?t=4804

Please let me know if I may assist further.

      thanks

for the benefit of others I got this reply from my broker...

During major news announcements like the unemployment number this morning the exchange can go into reserve and during this time market orders are not accepted. During these times the market depth can get very thin and volatility can be extreme. During that time you would have to use limit orders.
