    Strategy Timed Out Settings?

I use Visual Studio to debug my Strategy, and after I have attached to NinjaTrader.exe, the link to Ninja drops when I step-through my code. I would guess there is some kind of time-out test in the Control Center that I need to set to a higher number. Do anyone have suggestions to allow me to step through my script and stay attached to the executable?

    Thanks,

    jhill

    Hello,

    Thanks for the forum post.

Can you describe further what happens and what you mean by time out test so that I may attempt to assist. This normally falls outside of the bound of our support since this is an external application but may be possible I can point you in the right direction. I know when I try a debug in VS I do not get any sort of timeout.

I look forward to assisting you further.

Thanks Brett for taking your time and trying to help me with this issue.

I hope that this description will help.
After opening my Strategy in VS, I Attach to NinjaTrader.exe and set my Breakpoint in the script. When I finally get the hit on my Breakpoint, I press F10 to walk through the script. After hitting several F10’s, the “NinjaTrader.exe” goes red in the VS Locals window, the Attachment is broken and Ninja Trader completely closes down, as if I had exited NT.

jhill, can you try resetting your VS environment and recheck?

From the run command, run the following command:

          devenv /resetsettings

This would reset the IDE back to first time use
