Re-installing NinjaTrader

In the past year I've had to re-install NinjaTrader quite a few times when dealing with NinjaTrader Support. It always seems to be the easy fix for the techs. But not for me... True there are Chart templates that can be saved and workspaces, but what about all the settings? Is there a way to save settings?

For example: How about settings in Options, or Control Center, or Acc Performance, or SessionMgr, or HotKeys, or Strategy Performance, or Strategy Analyzer? All these have custom settings and grid settings that DO NOT SAVE with Templates or WorkSpaces.

Is there some way to save these things? The more I customize the more difficult it is to re-install NinjaTrader, which seems to be the fix of choice.

Thanks for the forum post.

Uninstall and reinstall should only be used when it is identified to resolve the issue after it has been identified. You should not be sent instructions to do an uninstall and reinstall just because its easy or "the fix of choice" as we try to not do these when possible. If you have a ticket number where this is done to you please let me know so I can look into this and make sure this is the corrective action that is needed in this case. Other items need to have been tried first before this is an option in most cases.

Also, a basic uninstall and reinstall does not remove any settings, the only time settings are dumped is if you manually delete the My Documents->NinjaTrader 7 folder.

Finally, You can save all your settings by going to control center->file->utilities->Backup. By backing up here will allow you to restore all settings to any PC at any time. This is the best way to backup.
