how to get a strategy to manage manual entries? examples please?

michel, what you could do here is calling ATM templates in your automated strategies so you could manage the resulting trades on the DOM or ChartTrader then manually:

However a NinjaScript strategy would only know about it's own positions and not pick up any manually entered trade.

is ninja going to stay like this or will this be implemented in the future?

but is there anyway to make a ninja strategy know a manual entry just happen?

Thanks for your feedback, we will for sure add this to our product enhancement lists, but I could not give you an ETA or commitment unfortunately.

There's currently no supported way to track a manual trade entry from a NinjaScript strategy.

i been reading about Unmanaged Approach, but im not surely where this can do what i want. any suggestions?

michel, this would be only designed to give you the maximum flexibility for your automated trading order submission as it would remove for example the managed mode order handling rules imposed, but it would not allow tracking manual entered trades then as well via a NinjaScript strategy, this limitation would remain.

I would support this feature strongly. Basically what he's talking about is a programmatic ATM strategy. The ATM strategies are sort of rigid. They are a good start, but they can be awkward to manage. Suppose i want to do manual entries because I do not have the confidence yet to fully automate the entries (my rules are not good enough to give over control to the computer), however I want a more sophisticated ATM strategy, say setting stops based on parabolicSAR - right now there's no way I can see to do it.

One thing I can imagine is a a strategy that draws buttons on the chart and enters based on commands from these buttons (kind of like chart trader). Then the entries are strategy entries, but they do not happen automatically. Exists are then totally custom.

If something like this can be done, can we get some guidance, hints?

This is definitely possible with automated strategies, however currently not possible with manual trades and ATM strategies.

This is on our enhancement list for the future.
