i was wondering if the OnOrderUpdate() method will run before the OnBarUpdate(). for example, they are triggered at the same time, which one will actually run first. Also, if OnOrderUpdate() is triggered in the middle of the OnBarUpdate(), will OnBarUpdate() finish before OnOrderUpdate() is run.

laces2, as NinjaTrader is multithreaded there's no guaranteed event sequence - the methods are called when there events trigger them - OnOrderUpdate() > on each orderstate change event, OnBarUpdate() > on each tick or at bar close depending on your CalculateOnBarClose setting.
