Start & Stop strategy from control center

    Hello support,

    Happy New Year 2011!

I notice I can stop my strategy from control center, after which the strategy are taken out of the chart hence cannot be restarted. How can I make my strategy to be re-startable from the control centre ?

    Thanks.
    Regards,

    Hello,

    Thanks for your forum post.

How are you disabling it? As this should not be, when you uncheck the strategy to disable it, the strategy remains active on the chart, ready to be re-enabled.

Also, Can you please let me know what version of NinjaTrader you are using this is located in the Control Center under Help->About and is to the right of the NinjaTrader logo.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

      Hello Brett,

My NT is version 6.5.1000.19 multibroker.

I disable it via the Strategies control center, when I click stop, my strategy is taken out of chart. Obviously when I click start it will say, strategy cannot start a strategy that has been terminated!

What is wrong ? How can I fix this?

      Thanks.

      EdwardK.

        Hello,

Ah, in this case this is something we have changed in NinjaTrader 7. Please upgrade to NinjaTrader 7 when you are able to do so.

Current release of NinjaTrader is version 7.0.1000.1.
You are running a version behind, please download the latest version of NinjaTrader Here:

Make sure to close NinjaTrader before you install the updated version of NinjaTrader, all of your settings will be maintained.

          Hello Brett,

I cannot believe NT provide Start Stop button that behave this way on NT6.5
          Can you confirm this ?
There must be some other settings somewhere else that could make my strategy not terminated when stop is clicked. Perhaps via some program setting variable. Please check.

I stick with NT6.5 for the time being.

          Thanks.

          Regards.

            Hello,

The start and stop button in the Control Center only works in this fashion when you start the strategy in the strategies tab by following these steps. otherwise if you start the strategy in a chart you will get this in NinjaTrader 6.5. We have changed this in NinjaTrader 7 to better merge the two ways of running strategies, therefor you will need to upgrade to NinjaTrader 7 for this feature.
