British Summer Time (GMT+1)

I was wondering if one of the developers could explain to me how the program deals with British Summer Time. I have the time set-up so show my local time (GMT) but wanted to check that this does not automatically change when the UK changes to British Summer Time (GMT+1) from March through to October. I presume that Ninjatrader ignores BST but just wanted to confirm that.

Hi Mark,

British summer time and daylight davings time are mainly handled by the .net architecture. Your charts will still print your local time even after seasonal time changes.

Not following you i'm afraid. I use the default instrument settings and for example if I select regular trading hours when backtesting the chart always starts at 2pm and finishes at 7.30pm. it does not adjust to 3pm and 8.30pm for BST. Am I missing the point somewhere or do I have a problem?

Time and time zone are factored in by your session template. These are defined in Tools > Session Manager.

When you run a backtest, it runs it against the time specified here. The time stamps of chart bars should remain constant.

If the market you're trading opens at 7:30 and closes at 16:00, then it will continue to do this before / after seasonal time changes.
