Thanks - it looks like I can sort it all out from those settings.

One thing is unclear in the documentation though:

"Recalculations will only occur if the strategy was stopped based on the conditions below."

How can recalculations occur if the strategy is stopped?

      dave1992,

That statement is only for if you chose the setting of Recalculate in Tools>Options>Strategies>NinjaScript. The behavior outlined in Recalculate does not actually stop the strategy unless the disconnect has lasted longer than "Disconnect delay seconds".

Thanks Josh, I understand that, which is why the sentence makes no sense to me. How can recalculate be relevent if the strat is already stopped.

If you stopped the strategy, it is not relevant. Recalculate does not stop the strategy on a disconnect until it has been disconnected for > Disconnect Delay Seconds.

I'm not stopping the strat. You're missing what I'm saying.

It says, recalculations only occur if the strategy was stopped (based on some conditions)

Have I misunderstood that? The strat needs to be running to recalculate. Correct? How can it recalculate if it's stopped? I'm not going to restart it, since this is automatic handling.

In fact, I would expect it to say, Recalculation does NOT occur if the strategy is stopped due to one of the conditions below.

              This is how it works:

              Scenario A.
              1. Disconnected
              2. Disconnect > disconnect delay seconds --> stop strategy
              3. Reconnected at a later point in time
              4. Reconnect held > 10 seconds --> strategy is started up again and "recalculated"

              Scenario B.
              1. Disconnected
              2. Disconnect < disconnect delay seconds --> strategy is not stopped
              3. Reconnected --> strategy continues along as if no disconnect ever occurred

Right, thanks, now I understand. It may have been obvious to you that the handling restarts the strategy on reconnect, but it wasn't to me.
