Compare 5minute close to daily high

Hello to all,

I took the weekend to start of coding in ninjascript. To begin i just wanted to generate long entrys when the previous day was a looser and todays 5 minute chart has a close above the previous days high. Sounds easy?

Well read a lot in the help guide and lokked at some scripts posted on the forum but couldn't get my strategy to work in backtesting.

marcoheimann, are you sure the code blocks are actually executing? Please add in a print statement and check the output (Tools -> Output Window) to see if the conditions ever execute. Another thing I just noticed is that your brackets place a BIP = 0 check inside of a BIP = 1 check, which will never be true. You will need to do your daily checks within the BarsInProgress = 1 context, and the intraday stuff within BarsInProgress = 0.

You was right about the code blocks. they don't execute.

Also, I separated the BIP. Now BIP=1 is first and verifies that the previous day is open[1]>close[1] and that today open < high[1]. In BIP=0 I use close[0]>high[1][1] to check for the entry on each 5 minute bar close.
