For clarification, given that there are dozens of instances where i call for a variable and use it exactly as declared in the Variables Region (with the first letter lower-case), should all those instances be called using an upper-case first letter? Maybe i've just been lucky up to this point !!?!

Yes, it's good practice to use the upper case public property in your code. It can be hit or miss if you use the lowercase version, since that include the initial value assignment.
