    Multiple Strategie Basics

    Hi,

I have two strategies to run on the same instrument.
I have two seperate charts for each strategie.
The strategie was made using the wizard.

    Questions are?
    1) Do I need to make a new chart each time I want to run a strategy?
    2) Can two different strategies run on the same instrument?
    3) How do I flatten the strategie so it will activate on the next signal as it wants to use the last signal?
    4) When I select 3 or more entries per direction will it keep entering the next position if only one has not completed?
    5) Can I run a startegy without a chart?
    6) How do I cancel all orders associated with one strategy and not the other?
    7) Should I flatten everything to cancel all strategy orders?
    8) If I'm running NT from 2 different computers on the same acc will this cause problems?

I probably have more but thats all I can think of now.
    Thanks Raef

    Hi Raef -

    1. You can start strategies either from the chart or strategies tab directly -

    2. Yes, this is possible.

    3. You can start up your strategies in 'Wait Until Flat' mode to take the next fresh entry signal -

    4. Sorry, I don't follow here - if the EntriesPerDirection setting would still allow for an entry, the strategy would continue to enter - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...yHandling.html

    5. Yes, please see 1.

    6. Stop / Disable your strategy and ensure to have the cancelling of orders in the order handling options checked (link from 3).

    7. Flatten everything can also be used, but it would be a complete flatten of all orders and account positions.

    8. This would work, as long as you don't connect with the same NT license to the same brokerage account simultaneously on those PC's.

Yes, individual strategies could trade against each other on the same market, as long as the overall strategy position is in sync with the account position.
