When I run a simulated strategy on a chart, it shows the executions. Now when I open a new chart, the old executions are on the chart. How can I clear this info from new charts?

TurnSignalJim,

Executions are stored in the database and as such any time you open up a chart you will see those executions. If you add a strategy onto a chart, irrelevant executions will be suppressed and you will only see executions from the strategy you added. Otherwise if you don't want to see old executions you can either remove them by resetting the account with those executions or you can turn off execution plotting on the chart. To turn off execution plotting bring up the Data Series dialogue window and set "Plot executions" to "DoNotPlot".

I have now applied a strategy to a chart and have been sim trading for the past few weeks. This week I am begining to keep a record of the results given for each trade by the backtester in the strategy analyzer and the results generated by the simulated trades in real time. I am finding some significant differences between the two (all negative so far, mostly on entries). Is sim trading in real time comparable to trading in a live market? Could the differences be classified as slippage? Would adjusting the chart start and stop times effect the opening entries? (The chart is now set to open at 9:30 am and close at 12:00 pm et) Any further insight into how these facilities work would be very much appreciated.

It would be more realistic for example to compare Market Replay backtesting to your simulated trading results.

Hi,
Can I use the optimizer to review different timeframe settings? For example, if I want to test a strategy over multiple range bar charts, can I set the optimizer from say 5 to 15 range bars and run an optimization to see which range works best?
