Variable Persistence

I have a bool variable called enterTrade that is initialized as false. Whilst the strategy is running enterTrade may become set to true. When a strategy controlled trade is manually closed the strategy is disabled as expected. If I then re-enable it is my enterTrade value still set to true or does the strategy reload and reset all variables to the default values?

Hi FatCanary,

If the strategy is stopped, then restarted the bool value would take the value of the first time the bool is declared in the strategy.

So, for example, if you want it to always restart with bool = false, you can place this under Initialize, as you've done.

The bool is declared under #region Variables. Is this the same as placing it under Initialize?

Hi FatCanary,

I recommend always starting (deleting, re-adding a new instance), but for the bool, yes, if the strategy is restarted, the bool should still be =false when restarting if set to false in variables.
