I tried to run a strategy between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am. Not working as the system does not accept a Start Time that's bigger than the End Time (per enclosed). How can I work around the 24 hour format issues?

Version 6.5 - When setting up the session begins and session ends, the begin time must be before the end time. You can custom code a trading filter, following this reference sample:
Using a time filter to limit trading hours

Version 7 introduces session templates, which allow you to define trading sessions that span multiple days. You could define a session that starts at 8:00 PM on Monday and ends 6:00 AM Tuesday.

Am I telling it to run for 2 sessions, ie

- 9:30 am to 12:00 noon AND
- 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm

Your expression looks accurate for the time filter you're wishing to use. I added the following statement after this check.

Print (ToTime(Time[0]));


Below is the output for a 15 minute series, which includes times in-between 14:00 and 15:30.

I spent the past few days trying to adapt a NJ sample breakout long strategy to a short one. The enclosed did compile successfully. Yet it does not trigger a Sell Stop order upon completion of the first 30 bars based on LowestLow. I found the following from the Log tab:

Error on calling 'OnBarUpdate' method for strategy 'ORBShort': Stop price has to be greater/equal 0
Parameter name: value

I thought I replaced the corresponding highestHigh etc with lowestLow .. sigh .. Appreciate your help in pointing out what I missed please. Thank you.

The message indicates you submitted an invalid order.

Print the value of your short order to verify it's what you expect.

I am experimenting .. Change the Short Stop order to:

EnterShortStop(lowestLow) //from (lowestLow - 1*TickSize)

Still got an error message "Stop price must not be 0" (from Stop price has to be greater/equal 0).

That's as far as I go .. no clue on how to tell the system to place a Short Stop 1 tick below LL of the former 30 bars. Am earnestly waiting for your tip. Thank you.

You need to print the value of your lowestLow variable and view output through tools > output window.

Use TraceOrders output to view details regarding strategy submitted orders.
