    exporting strategies

Good morning! I have a couple of custom strategies that I've developed. However, when I go to export those strategies as .zip files, I receive a message in a pop up window that says in order for the strategy to be used, I must have another (3rd) custom strategy that I wrote installed on that computer. How do I get around this? I am using NT system indicators. And I include these in the .zip export by selecting them under the "System indicators" list on the export window.

How can I export my indicator to be "stand alone" and not dependent on another custom strategy I have installed? I have checked and there are no variables or indicators that reference any other 3rd party indicators, etc.

    Thanks!

    paschall,

If you receive that message it means it is indeed accessing something from somewhere else and you will have to include that other script. Suggest you try to slowly break it down to find where that link is coming from and remove the reference so you can proceed. You may have inadvertently used a method or something from the other script.

      Hi Josh,
Just finished doing just that. Went through the code, line-by-line, and found nothing referencing the offending indicator. Not even a "search & find" found anything. Nothing. It's one of the most bizarre things I've encountered. I've worked on the problem for a day and a half.

The only way I found around it was to remove the other custom indicator via File - Utilities - Remove Ninja Script Assembly. THEN recompile and export my strategy. Got rid of the error. Now testing it out on a separate computer with NT. I wished I knew what was going on. The only thing I know is that there is not a single line of code that references the other indicator, it wasn't used in the strategy (not as a variable, not called, no properties relating to it....nuthin). Somehow, it seems like something got stuck in a cache somewhere. Because I used to reference this particular indicator in the strategy, but through back-testing found that it wasn't as beneficial as I once thought. So I removed all of the code. (I do mea remove, and not just comment out the lines, highlight & delete).

I'm sure this may not be of any help. But just thought I'd pass along my experience.
