Re: Dec. ES.
Today I shorted 10 contracts using an ATM Strategy I keep permanently in my DOM. I use this resident strategy a lot in the simulator and real time with no problem.
The entry triggered according to plan, but when price reached my preprogrammed target, a message appeared saying there was an error and the program refused to buy back where it was supposed to, even when price went through my target.
The message was "The risk management system is not available." with both Buy Limit (target) and Buy Stop Limit (above entry) orders affected. I didn't waste any time closing and reopening the DOM (no help) and rebooting NT from scratch (no help). The new DOM after reboot said I was still short 10 contracts and it still wouldn't accept a market order to go flat.
I had to call the order desk at my broker (Mirus), verify I was short 10 (yes) and tell them to flatten me at their end. When they did, the order appeared on my DOM as if nothing happened.
Similar bugs like refusing to take an order at all from resident ATM strategies I use showed up within the last week or so.
What now? Reinstall?
tx.
