Thanks for the help Bertrand. Here's the problem: if I have strategy running, and I hold a solicited position, and I left-click the basic order entry window's Close button, it closes both my solicited and strategy-created positions (if there are any), AND removes my strategy from my chart -- a sort of triple whammy. Is a left-click supposed to do that?
If I hover over the Close button, the pop-up text says "Closes a position (left click) or a strategy (middle click)" which sounds more like what I have in mind. Basically, I want the ability to close my solicited positions without removing my strategy -- and by clicking the "Close" button. Is that possible?

Hello Bertrand,
My custom strategy does not call any ATM. I want to close my position without taking out my custom strategy. There is no ATM to select. Although I do have ATM templates.
What is the way to achieve this?
Thanks.
Regards.

Hello Bertrand,
Yes it is unfortunate. I have been trying to avoid calling ATM because it cannot be backtested.
Can this be one without ATM on Ninja7?
Or Can Ninja7 backtest ATM strategies ?
Thanks.
Regards.

Thanks for your help guys. Can this be addressed at a later time? Perhaps NT7.1?
I don't want to belabor the point, but I work with a fairly large group of traders, all using NT, and virtually all of whom report this as a problem -- not being able to use the "Close" button while they have strategies running. We have to warn them ahead of time not to click "Close" unless they intend to remove their strategy.
Thanks again for your replies,

Aloha Ninja trader Josh
I have been sim trading and sometimes real trading with NT and using patsystems with the Dom on my XP system. On my XP while in my ATM strategy it works accordingly as to the manual. When I click middle button on close it justs exits my position not my entire strategy. But now on a faster computer running windows but also compatible with XP programs I am experiencing the same issues as previously stated in earlier posts.I am using the exact same set up and strategy.I have read them all and I do not see where you simply addressed the issue. On the super DOM middle click on close while running an active ATM strategy completely closes the position and strategy unlike before and not as stated on the DOM itself. Can you help me with this issue?

jungo, sorr I'm not sure I follow you - works as expected for me, if I work two separate active ATM's on one DOM I can selectively close one with the middle mouse button pushing 'Close'. If I were two hit 'Close' with the left mouse button it would close all position and associated strategies.

For some reason my middle mouse does nothing at all.On my xp system on an older computer which I used it works as stated, but onmy new an faster computer the middle click on close with any mouse has no effect on the DOM.Do I have to adjust settings or what?

Hi jungo,
You will likely need to adjust settings with your mouse and how the scroll wheel is used in the Windows Control Panel's Mouse Properties menu.
If you do not find a property which does the trick here, I would suggest contacting the manufacturer of the mouse to determine how to configure this button/wheel to act as a standard middle mouse button.KyleNinjaTrader Customer Service
