Keeping in sync?

Guys,

I'm learning, so bear with me. From what I understand, placing and order in a strategy doesn't really place an order within ninjatrader, which is why even when my strategy appears to place an order, I see nothing in the "Order" tab to indicate this is so. Is this the case?

If so, how can I cause a real order to be placed in NinjaTrader when my strategy places an order?

No worries, but no, it does submit orders. When an automated strategy triggers an order, it will be submitted as well.

I suspect you are confused with the strategy position vs. account position concept. Please see the link below for more information.

It can occur when you apply an automated strategy, the strategy is in a position, while your account is not. The strategy will be applied on historical data. Based on the historical data the strategy might have submitted orders. It could be because of these orders, the strategy is in a position.
