Sms/email notification

Greetings, I've been browsing in forums and can't find if the following is possible:

Is it possible to have an email / sms notification built in our strategies? When position opened or closed to notify user/users?

xasou, you would need use the SendMail() method in NinjaScript for this -

This will allow emails to be send, for SMS please use an email provider that can convert those mails then to text messages.

hmm, that seems to do the trick but, what should the code look like and where it should be placed in order to notify a user whenever the position opened for example?

You can either work with Position.MarketPosition in the OnBarUpdate() for this or just add the SendMail routine to your long / short condition triggers so you're notified of each signal then.

Is there a way on NT7 to be sent email alerts once an order executes according to my strategy without having to code anything? I have live trading strategies set up and would like to be notified if an order is placed.

I notice when I edit the strategy there is an option to "send mail" on the strategy action window, once the conditions are met. When I open this I can input someone's e-mail address, how can I use this to send an e-mail once the strategy is triggered.

With this option in the wizard you could send an email once the conditions to trigger an order are true, but you could unfortunately not check the filled state, for this you would need to custom code as Brett pointed out.

I have implemented a full sms / email notication,


every trader has its own needs, so I believe offering a generic package is not worthwile.
The other question:
Who wants to pay 150 Eur for this functionality?

(p.s. my experience with sms: All the known sms gateways have too much delay. The best solution is to attach an old mobile phone to your PC )
