    Total Orders - Multiple Strategies

    Dear Support,

Can I set my total orders for all strategies? I want to run multiple strategies, but only want to have up to 1 total trade on at a time.

    Thanks,

Each strategy is completely independent of others. They do not interface at all.

      Another quick question.

I am running 3 live strategies. I am showing no positions open on account, but I am getting "hanging" positions showing up in my strategy.

For example, one of my strategies is still showing me short 1 car, but I am flat.

What circumstances could occur that could cause this?

3 strategies, no more than 1 car per strategy. 2 strategies on same instrument, but 2 different time frames. 1 strategy on different instrument/frame.

It seems to happen when things "get busy" and there is activity. For example: I might be long 1 car on 5m frame, then a 1m might fire a signal to get short.

So I am just curious to know how I can have a strategy showing a position on when in fact I am flat.

Each of your strategy has its own strategy position. Strategy positions are absolutely different than account positions. http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ead.php?t=4033

If one strategy is still holding a position it is likely that is what you are seeing.

Isn't there a way to interface?

Surely the strategies can be made to speak with one another, no? I'm obviously aware they are not communicating out of the box (hence the purpose for my question), but can't I set some universal bool saying whether we are in a trade or not in another strategy? Check bool and if false, then take trade, else sit on hands.

          Thanks,

How in the heck, can a strategy, fire an order that it is not aware of?

What I am seeing is that my strategy is not aware of what it fired? If I didn't manually take the trade down, then how did the strategy take it down without knowing it took it down?

Unfortunately this is not supported by us. You can search the forums for what others have tried for strategy communication, but I cannot offer you any assistance on this.
