New to advanced strategy development - need help please

I am trying to develop a strategy using the wizard, I have no experience as a programmer and my questions are:

If I use a stochastic oscillator and I want to go long only when the stochastics crosses its trigger signal and it is also above/below certain values, what can I do?

How good is optimizing a strategy?

You want to make two conditions within one set corresponding to the conditions you've outlined earlier.

Optimizing a strategy is good in trying to help you find the best parameter settings for your indicators.

Still can't find a right solution

Josh, thanks for the promptly response. I tried to do it through the wizard but it seem that I can't find the answer. What I need is to find a way to asing a value to the stochastich and if it is below that value and it crosses above the trigger line then execute the trade and viceversa.

You can choose the stochastics from the indicator list. You can then compare it against any value you want. On the other side select Misc->Numeric value and punch in what you want it to cross above/below.
