Strategy removed from chart

If you press the "Close" button on the DOM with an active order, it kills strategies as well, for whatever reason.



May or may not be what you are seeing.

That is what I am doing. I didn't know it would do that. I am placing naked orders for testing so I do not have to move my profit and stop loss orders.

chart strategies

i use chart strategies which display an arrow on the chart and a sound. it has to be reloaded every time i startup. now my trade information will not display on the chart. any ideas on what i need to do

Not sure I follow - the reload each time for the strategy is expected with NinjaTrader 6.5 - what do you mean by 'trade information'?

i display the actual trades, text and markers, on my chart for trades i place. when i remove the strategies the trade data shows when i reload the strategies, then the trade data disappears

If you use a NinjaScript strategy it will remove trade executions and only show those generated by that strategy. It sounds like the strategy you are using doesn't place any trades and that is why you see no markers. You should instead make your strategy as an indicator and then that way you can just run it as an indicator and still see the trade executions from your manual trades.

unfortunately, i am not that savvy with indicators and cant get to where it shows me the development wizard like strategy.

as an example, i am looking to place an arrow on the chart when cci crosses above -100.

can the indicator wizard do this without going into code?
