Need help with email

I wanted to use SendMail in my strategy so I went to Tools-Option-Misc to set up the account info. When I click the Test button, it gives me an error 'Must issue a STARTTLS command first'. What am I missing?

It seems like a message coming from your outbound mail server. You may need to contact your ISP to see what kind of settings they require.

Your mail/SMTP server (at least on the port you are connected to) apparently requires secure authentication using TLS/SSL. This is becoming more common to combat spam. Try leaving the server name in the options blank and use the default NT SMTP server, though some ISPs actually block SMTP connections to third-party servers, so that may not work either.

Did you ever solve this? I'm trying to send mail using smtp.live.com and I get the same error when I hit the Test button.

SMTP Problems

You get that error because the smtp server wants to start TLS (a secure channel). NT doesn't support TLS but is required by live mail
