Wizard - strategy always exits on close instead of profit/stop targets

Hi guys,

In the Strategy Wizard, I can't seem to get the profit target/stop loss to function. In backtesting the entry signals work ok, according to conditions, but the exits are always showing 'exit on close' for all trades, which is not what my conditions say.

Any ideas?

I only encounter this problem in the Wizard, everything works ok on other strategies, both in real-time and backtesting.

Hi Dan, could you please post a screenshot of the stops and targets section in your wizard strategy? If you use percentage based ones, please make sure you enter the correct value - for example a 1 percent stop would be 0.01, same for the profit target.

Bertrand thanks, that takes care of it, I was using an incorrect format for %, and it works ok for the tick values.

Say, how do I get the profit target/stop loss to be input in the parameter settings before the backtest, is it some user-defined function? I am currently re-writing the values in the Wizard . . . Thanks

Great - you want to create those as user defined inputs then, as an added benefit those can then also be optimized in the Strategy Analyzer - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...nedInputs.html
