remove leftover chart markers

After I run a strategy to back-test it, when I remove the strategy sometimes some chart markers generated by the strategy are left on the chart. I have tried various ways to get rid of the left-over chart makers with no success. I've tried closing the chart and re-opening it, right click menu to remove all drawing objects, repair DB, apply a different strategy and remove it. The orphaned markers are still on the chart. How can I get rid of them?

What markers are you talking about? If you are talking about the execution markers they will stay. If you don't want to see executions you need to turn it off through the Chart Properties and setting markers to DoNotPlot.

Yes, I was talking about the execution markers generated by the strategy. I do want to see them while I'm running the strategy to test it. After I stop the strategy and remove it from the chart most of the execution markers are removed but some remain. I tried your suggestion: changed the chart properties value for executions to "do not plot" and it removed the unwanted markers. Then when I changed it back to "plot text and markers" so I can run a new back-test, the un-wanted markers came back. Any other ideas?

For sure they will come back when you turn plotting back on. All real-time executions are always marked. If you don't want to see them, turn off plotting. If you do want to see them, turn on plotting. If you start a new strategy it will mask over the old executions to show you relevant ones for your new strategy, but they are always there.

If you want to clear them completely out and they were done on the Sim101 account you can reset your sim account. Tools->Options->Simulator->Reset.

Yes, that worked. Thanks for the explanation, now I understand why some markers were removed when I stopped the strategy and some remained. Resetting the sim account solved my problem. Thanks!
