    Error connecting to data provider due to strategy

    Yesterday night I noticed that 4/14 was missing in my historical data. This morning my 30 minute chart simply skipped from 4/14 to 4/15, so I decided to delete the last month of historical data and then compress the database. After that I restarted NT but am now unable to load any chart data due to this error message:

    4/15/2009 7:42:45 AM Default Strategy f62ba6090eeb448583ff05a7cdfe7a7f: unable to deserialize user data: There is an error in XML document (1, 4257).

    I looked at the trace and log files and that's pretty much the only error I see. Problem is that I don't know which strategy this is (and I have dozens). I know which strategies I worked on last but have no idea how to clean/rebuild them.

    In any case - I am unable to connect to IQFeed at this point and that's a HUGE problem for me. Please help me decrypt this silly error message.

    Michael,

    You will have to find which strategy is causing you issues before we can proceed. I suggest you just stop all your strategies and slowly add them back one by one.

    Also, to clarify, you can still connect to your data provider without using strategies correct?

      1. Stop them how - I had none running. Which is what confuses me.

      2. I had it fail for a while, then I finally got it running again after closing all charts and storing a new default workspace. But it's still throwing that error, which is weird.
