Nuimeric Value as variable

Hi from Oklahoma

Within the strategy wizard, is there some combination that will allow
you to make the numeric value a variable.

I.e; fast stoch > numeric value

and the numeric value is a variable rather than a fixed value

I have looked at the link you posted and still not clear on how to do this
when posting the numeric value, there is no dropdown to tell it to use
user variable

Hi, you can set this under Strategy action > Misc > Set user defined variable > click on the litte dots on the right side in the 'Value' field.

What i am trying to accomplish is : stoch > numeric value
where the numeric value can be a variable.
Dont seem to be able to get there from the info you provided.

In the Condition Builder, select Stoch on the left hand side from the Indicators category. On the right hand side select the Misc category and then select Numeric value. Then you can press the ... button to change the numeric value to whatever you want to compare against the Stoch with.

Hi Lynn, I think the issue is you expect this in the condition builder, where it is not present, it will be available in the 'Do the following' section. So in one condition you would need to set this variable and then in the next set you can assess this variable then in the Condition Builder. To help you out better, it would help to know what exactly you are trying to set up.

Sorry for all the confusion.

Here is what i would like to set up:

If stoc > 70
go long

But would like to be able to make the fixed number (70) a
variable so could be optimized.

Then reference this later as you create your condition by selexting the stochastic on the left side and going to user defined inputs on the right side.

Same problem

The user variables or user defined varibles do not drop down
into the right hand condition window blocks to be used.

This should not be this difficult.

Did you define them in the wizard screen named 'User Defined Inputs'?

Then it will be listed in the condition builder under User Defined Input, please doubleclick on this section to see the input variable listed.
