Strategies for Forex?

Wonder if you can help?

I'm looking at a simple strategy for any forex market, the issue I have when I right click on the strategy in the strategy tab, and click on Strategy Performance > Historical & Real History, and then look at the summary sheets, the results are too good!!

but when I'm running the strategy in realtime, it looks nothing like the summary sheet.

I guess it because when I buy/sell a contract they add lets say .6 pips. How to I add .6 pip to a strategy? That way I can get consistant results.

Hi ninjamouse, yes you want to add the spread to your backtesting results, you can either set higher commissions or enter this in the 'slippage' box when testing - http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...tegiesTab.html

stupid question, ok, I've added 2 in the slippage box, now, when im 100% sure im happy with the strategy, do i remove the 2 in the slippage box (when it goes live).

For your realtime executions it would not matter ninjamouse, but you can adjust it after you get more experience about the live spread you pay then on average.
